I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to this, what is the difference between point to point walls and flat to flat?

Thanks

I couldn't come up with a concise way to explain it, so I made a picture. Hex grids are a tricky business...

Totally makes sense now! Feel like I probably should have gotten that. Thanks again! I printed your mag hexes and love them! Going to post a make this weekend with the added walls and doors.

Awesome! I love seeing how others are using them!

What about tall grasses for a forest/outdoor wall? Or hedges, like a bush wall?

Thank you for the awesome ideas! I borrowed your bush look/concept to make the bush walls. I made the leafs a bit larger so the detail wouldn't get lost. Think of them as Musa Basjoo plants. :D

Also I really wanted to make grass too, but I couldn't figure a way to do it and actually retain the detail... that is until I remembered this thing! I made a grass patch based on that concept and it turned out super awesome! (attached an image of it)

Thanks for the ideas RobagoN!

Looks great!

Thank you for the great designs.

I printed the new doors and am wondering why you chose two different appproaches for F and P frame. One sitting on top of an existing tile and one including a tile so it fits into the tile grid.
Furthermore there seems to be an error with MagWall_Wood_F_Door_Frame. I have gaps on the sides for the first 2.4mm and than it gets connected.

Yep! I caught that gap today when I got home and saw the print. I'll have it fixed soon!

As far as the design, they are all meant to go on top of an existing tile. I needed every millimeter of space for the F door frames. The character bases are 26mm and the flat to flat measurement of a hex is 35.5mm, so I only had 9.5mm to make both frame sides in.

I'm still evaluating this door design. I may end up going even closer to rbross' design in that the door sections have walls on either side to better support them and keep them in place. Also I do not like that the cobble doors need supports. I'm probably going to redo it. Was thinking a rusty gate would go better with the destroyed cobblestone look... What do you think?

I agree with the cobblestone doors design. Not my thing and I didnt print them. Cobblestone with wooden door is fine with me, like from rbross.
Although I love the idea of a rusty grate, my problem is that I cannot print them well enough. So yes try it, but its for better printers than mine. Please try to design it with the possibility to use the wodden door as well, if printing the grate fails.

Now that's an interesting concept!

I'm going to see if I can come up with a way to make the doors and frames interchangeable. That's something that I've never seen and it would be so cool to try! Then you can have a wooden door on a cobble wall (like a cottage) or a iron door in a wooden room (like a bank vault) or an iron gate in a cavern (like a sewer system trying to keep the vagrants out). So many cool options!!

Yeah the gate idea would be a hard print, but with an interchangeable door design, you could use any door in the system! I love this idea!

I've done it! Check out the new MagHex Doors Here!

Thank you so much for the idea 3DPrintEvangelist! Please let me know if you have any more. :D

MagHex Doors for Gloomhaven

I'm excited for these! Hoping to print a couple today to test out in our 4 player game tonight.

Awesome! I've had this project behind closed doors for a few days, but I realized that I should allow the community to help test them, so thank you for helping!

Also, I'll have an update soon. The earring post idea totally didn't work at all. Not nearly enough magnetism. But I found wire nails that work really well, so I'm in the process of integrating them into the design.

Sounds good! I'll be more helpful once my magnets arrive, hopefully this week. Size and printing was easy so far.
