What is the names of the keys the staff use to trigger the coin mechanism when they want to disconnect trollies?

What the three pronged jobby that goes on the other side of the mechanism to the one the coin goes in? I have no idea what that's called - what do you suggest?

The Sainsbury's trollies are disconnected with a key that's the shape of half a coin on a stick, kind'a hook shaped. If I could find a picture I could make an CAD model as I know the diameter of the coin shaped part.

Me parece una muy buena idea, ademas con el formato en euro abres el mercado a europa...
Yo ya estoy esperando mi copia!!!

Good idea!
BTW, for anyone who doesn't know, a trolley is a shopping cart and in the UK, they secure them to each other using a chain and a mechanism released by a pound coin - if you have one :(

Thanks for the comment! I actually saw something like this for sale for this very purpose and the price wasn't far off £1 per trolley token - crazy!

A version of this for euro coins is to follow...
