The simple, compact solution to your joint rolling needs.
Have a quick search of the internet and you'll see that there's an abundance of rolling trays and "M-decks" that are available. Notice how boring they all look and how chunky they are?
My design consists of 4 sections (each printable in ~90mins with no supports) which clip together by hand. When folded, it creates a compact cuboid measuring 47 x 47 x 50mm. When unfolded, it measures at 155 x 50 x 23mm. This means that the unique design allows for a 61.96% decrease in volume when stored in the folded position.
It stays folded by using two pairs of magnets on the end pieces (I'm considering making another version with a clip instead), however, it's still usable without them.
When the magnets are released, the conical shaped hinge points allow the pieces to rotate and the whole thing flatten out for use. Each hinge has a flat face at the bottom which stops the pieces from over-rotating, allowing it to be placed on a convex surface but still remain flat for rolling.

Super Glue (Can also be found for very cheap)
(Variations of the magnet end pieces are quoting diameter and thickness values
eg. 5mm x 4mm MAGNET = 5mm Diameter x 4mm Thick)
