Has anyone actually printed this? There is a section near the top that will not print due to the steep angle. Tried twice and both times it fails in the same spot due to the flat spot on the top.

I printed it. This top section you mention looks weak but still great looking, I mean I have printed it with Sulfur Yellow PLA and you can see clearly through this section but it’s complete and good looking. I printed it with cuts 100% size, 30mm/s and 0.1 layer height. Hope this help you.

Sorry to hear that, mate. You might want to check your "spiralized" setup. Especially increase the flow to 125 %, as standard for vase mode. I printed this successfully many times with an Anet A8. Please find below the related settings in I used in Cura:

Quality
Layer height 0.15

Shell
doesn't matter, overwritten

Infill
doesn't matter, overwritten

Material
Flow 125 %

Speed
all speed settings at 30 mm/s

Travel
doesn't matter, overwritten

Cooling
Fan speed 80 %
Initial fan speed 50 %
Regular fan speed at height 7 mm

Support
None

Build Plate Adhesion
None

Special Modes
Spiralize Outer Contour enabled

That's it. The top part is indeed the "most tricky" one. That's even the part I changed from the original version, because that was even flatter and unprintable in vase mode. But with my version and these settings, it worked well for me and I hope, it'll work for you, too. Good luck!

P.S.: I printed it in 100 % scale maximum. Increasing the total size or increasing the layer height > 0.15 might result in print failure, to my guess.
