This is a fishing line unspooler or line stripper that is used to remove old fishing line from your reel.
This makes quick work of removing line so it can be properly disposed of.
Additional parts needed
The model is designed for 1/4" threaded rod about 2.5" to 2.75 inches long run through it.
I use a nut on the inside of the cone to secure it and a wing nut to hold the removable end cap on.
1/4" x 20 tpi rod (2.5 to 3.25 inches in length)
1 - 1/4 x 20 tpi nut
1 - 1/4 x 20 tpi wing nut
How to use
Assemble and insert into chuck of your drill.
Run line through the hole in the end cap and wrap once around the threaded rod under the wing nut. Snug the wing nut down over the line & end cap. Alternatively tie old fishing line to hole in the end cap.
Loosen the drag on your reel and open the bail
Use drill to spin unspooler to wind line off the reel/ spool.
After all line is removed from the spool, remove the wing nut and end cap.
Slide old fishing line off cone.
