Rpi Case - 1202HP
I (needlessly) wanted a tower cooler for my raspberry pi. So…. This is a Raspberry pi case to allow mounting of copper tower cooler (2x heat pipe) and 120mm fan.
With a 3B+ running octoprint, under load it struggles to get to 40°C. Fan is frankly there for show. There is room for mounting other items in the case. The one pictured has stepdown converters from a laptop PSU giving a convenient to 12v and 5v.
Pi3B+ or equivalent
Connectland Chipset Heatsink Model – 1504002 (Mounts designed specifically for this heatsink)
Thermal Pads or paste
4x PC fan screws
4x 4mm x for the feet(s)
27/07/19 - Added a pic showing temps achieved. Room temp ~28C. The drop is when the Printer psu fan kicks in. The rest of the time there's little to no airflow through the heatsink (needs forced air ideally).
It may be worth adding a thin copper shim between the processor and heatsink, This will allow a little more room between base of heatsink and board and allow a little more airflow around other components.
0.3 - could be done finer
Parts are oriented in the way I printed them. They are not printed with strength in mind - I wanted as few supports as possible.
