This thing is a modular, stackable spiral staircase compatible with the Gravitrax marble-run system.
If properly printed and placed along your track, it will allow the marble to travel downwards bouncing on each step with a very satisfying sound.
The staircase is designed to be inserted into a basic tile at the bottom, and be hooked to any "rail-receiving" tile on the top.
The smallest possible setup is achieved by just connecting the bottom and the top parts, obtaining a 1cm-down 60 degree turn.
Each "bAd_SprialStaircase_Steps" module lowers the marble 1cm, and turns it 120 degrees clockwise.
The photos show examples of a 7cm and 4cm staircase.
Please take a look at the videos in the "Post-Printing" section to see it in action!
If you make this, it would be awesome to see pics of your makes!
Note: I am in no way associated with Ravensburger or Gravitrax, this is just a design that is compatible with the Gravitrax system that provides functionality the stock parts do not.
I do this just for mere fun, but if you find my projects useful to enhance your Gravitrax experience, consider the idea of tipping me, I'd really appreciate it! :)
Pay attention to the addition of support material by your slicing software! Support should have a high enough resolution to ensure that supports are printed under the two small pegs of the "top" module. Otherwise, the pegs will be useless for hooking the staircase to the adjacent Gravitrax tile.
