I'm going to make one in three pieces that will be 40cm tall total... i've already split it up and stuff

i have a crazy idea to make a Blackbird like sword! can anyone tweak that desing and make a short sword design.(extend it) 3d printing or actual metal manufacturing(tips. ideas which machine to manufacture this on)?

Print it in plastic then cast it in metal.

Like jungletech said, this is a challenging print due to the many weak spots. Removing the supporting material is more than likely going to damage the print.

Why print on its side? Any suggestions on how to rotate the object in the STL before printing?

This has been pretty challenging to print. I'm only getting one layer of plastic on the thin areas of the model, making it difficult to remove the support without causing damage. Printing at 75% as suggested, using Slic3r with support material enabled. Any tips?
