This is a square spike design for solar lawn lights. This is to replace ones that have gotten broken. Please review the sizes, to make sure it will fit your model of solar pathway light. I have included the STEP files and the Solidworks part file so you can revise it to fit your light. The walls are 1.27mm for strength, I used PLA, to use up a short spool that I had of left over filament.
Overview and Background
A very simple thing to print. I printed two at at a time on my mini. The spikes have been designed to print standing up, on a Monoprice mini. PLA was the material I used, bed temp 60, tip temp 205. The walls are 1.27mm thick to help to give the spike some strength, if you have to pound it into the ground.
Lesson Plan and Activity
A great way for kids to learn about printing a very simple object, with real word uses. Print time is about 4 hours.
