I've noticed the kodama spends much of its time looking down. Would it be possible to get a version where the spring hole is vertical, perpendicular to the print surface?

The spring hole already has a 5 degree backwards yaw to account for natural sag. If it's still not aligned, it may be because your spring is too long. Try cutting off a potion of it, such that the head rests about 2mm from the body, and the inner cylinder should give the spring enough rigidity to keep the head aligned across that small gap.

It would be difficult to align precisely without a spring to test with, but I can try making versions with additional backwards yaw on the spring hole if the above doesn't help.

No, it's aligned just fine, I was just hoping for the spring hole to be straight up and down through the body, perpendicular to the print surface. Right now it seems to be perpendicular to the cut surface. I haven't really noticed how tilted the hole in the head is.

I've tried putting a different hole in it myself, but with the tools I have, it just doesn't save properly. So my only other option is to ask.

I'm saying that the head tilting forward is likely due to the spring being too long, as the spring hole in the body is angled specifically to align with the spring hole in the head. I've included an illustration to demonstrate what I mean.

Regardless, I've uploaded an alternate version of the body with a vertical body hole, pic also attached. Hope it solves your issue, please let me know how it goes either way.

Any pen spring? Mine is 3.4mm ID and 4.2 OD.

Should work as long as the length is around 29mm.
