Do you have some sort of before-after comparison you could share (pics and/or numbers on the successful filament change ratio)? I'm curious how the tip shape has changed for you and how often you still have to babysit the MMU after the mod

If your looking for improved tool change then you should consider my MMUS Selector large bore part.

I made this for folks who are on the long waiting list to receive the S upgrade (sensor). This allows you to use the new extruder design without the need for the kit. More of a stop gap to get your machine running without waiting 10 weeks for a single part. Once you get your kit simply swap this out and install the sensor.

Hi, so i can disable the IR sensor and use this?

Thanks

You can disable the IR and use what you have if you wish. This allows you to remove or not install the IR sensor while still using the new MKs upgrade extruder. If you want to perform the type S extruder upgrade without getting a kit from Prusa then you would need to print the MK3 to MK3s or MK2.5 to Mk2.5s based on what model you have found here https://www.prusa3d.com/prusa-i3-printable-parts/. Then you substitute the "FS cover" and "adapter" for these parts. This can also work for the MMU2.

This also takes advantage of a m10 pass-through fitting for your PTFE tube. Can be found here if you don't have one https://www.amazon.com/BIQU-Straight-Pneumatic-Connector-Extruder/dp/B01IB81IHG/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=m10+push+fitting&qid=1557959335&s=gateway&sr=8-3

Hope that helps
