This simple hand-operated gadget is great for younger kids (and older ones, too!).
The Archimedes screw inspires this model. A central screw collects the balls in a chambered column and slowly lifts them to the very top of the maze, where they are released to begin their descent along the tangled path.
This model comes in two parts which should be printed separately and then easily assembled. You will need about 5 or 6 8mm steel ball bearings.
Depending on your 3D printer you may need a pair of tweezers and some sandpaper to clean the track.

Be sure the cooling fan is operating at its fastest speed after the first layer, to ensure the bridging won’t have too much sag.
For PLA and a 0.4mm nozzle use these settings:
Layer height: 0.2mm
Print speed: 40mm/sec
Wall thickness: 1.2mm
Top/bottom thickness: 0.8mm
Bed temperature: 60F
