thanks for this! I followed another person's complicated and awful guide and didn't know it's so freaking simple to upgrade to E3D V6!

for some reason with this spacer most of the fan is blown at my heat block. but everything is working fine so /shrug.

I'm glad it's working for you! Are you using the E3D V6, or the Gulfcoast Robotics one? I think there may be more to it for the E3D one. I'm glad it seems to be working well for you anyway.

I ran the Gulfcoast Robotics V6 hotend for about 3 weeks now, and it works well on most everything, BUT it doesn't like a lot of retraction. I found about 3 to 4mm retraction distance to be about the max, or else it will clog sometimes.

hey I just came across this as I was checking something. I used linear advance and it makes me need so much less retractin (1.1mm instead of 3.5-4) maybe it's worth a try?

It was 10$ clone that came preassembled /shrug.

it's working fine so far but I took the heatbreak out. my metal one will arrive this sat so I can print PETG without going crazy over the neuro toxins.

and yeah the retractions sadly suck. I doubt the original is any different. I use 4mm-3.5mm. combing, coasting helps a lot. otherwise you have to get rid of them by hand (combing is awesome tho) I'm planning on upgrading to direct drove tho. that could hlep. my mega-s already comes with a titan clone but I'm worried the motor is heavy since it's not pancake. but I guess YOLO :D someone mounted the full stepper motor and extruder from the non-s so /shrug. this ones like 3/4th the size of others. not sure if the clone dimensions are the same as the official either.
