Scotty mount system for the Hobie H-Rail.
This H-Rail mount fits on the Hobie standard H-Rail system and uses a Scotty attachment point.
I use these for Scotty rod holders, but could be used for most Scotty based attachments.
There are 2 pieces of Stainless Steel Metric hardware used (And 2 corresponding nuts)
1x M6 x 30mm Stainless Steel Socket Head Bolt - With 1x M6 Stainless Steel Lock-Nut (For Mount tightening)
1x M4 x 50mm Stainless Steel Socket Head Bolt - With 1x M4 Stainless Steel Lock-Nut (For Hinge)
The mount side needs to be printed so that the locking tab is closest to the bed, this means that it does not need supports. (See pics) It has been designed to be universal for each side when pushing in and over the locking tab. Left side use has it facing aft and into the boat at -135 degrees, whilst the right side has in facing fore and into the boat at 45 degrees. The reason it is not simply symmetrical is that the printing orientation either had it on the top or the bottom of the inner shaft meaning it was not part of the perimeter and therefore a major weak point; considering you bang the rod holders up with your hands to easily remove them, which hits the tab (Which is its intended purpose) and because it would have just been 'printed on' and not part of the perimeter, it would mean it would most likely have broken off.
Please print in the orientation shown in the Simplify3d screenshots (Yellow models) for maximum all-round strength and rigidity.
Printed in PLA with 4 perimeters and an infill of 70% 'Grid' pattern, at a resolution of 0.2mm (Resolution choice is optional) with supports. For a guide on the supports, please see the screenshots provided. Please use a 'Horizontal Offset from Part' of 0.50mm for easy removal. No supports are needed in the screw ports.
