This Bee entrance disc(s) is inspired by the nuc entrance disk (cpbee) and similar to commercially available ones, There are three versions, a medium that is 90mm in diameter, a large that is 124 mm in diameter and a second large (124 mm) version that has a larger entrance hole that is slightly larger than 1590 sq mm (2 square inches) for swarm traps. This entrance size is the smallest recommended by Thomas Seeley for swarm traps in his book "Honeybee Democracy" where, among other things, he studied the preferred entrance size for honeybee swarm scouts seeking a new home.
These discs can be mounted on the front, back or side of the hive. The center hole in the vent can be used to center-punch locator to drill the entrance hole after spinning the disc to the large opening. The four positions on the disc are for "open entrance", "queen excluder", "vented hole" for transport or "closed".
3/15/19 Added the Trap Bee Gate Guard that adds a stile in the middle of the hole to discourage birds and squirrels.
