Wow, this is a really nice model! 1.5 years ago I created a mod for the well-known FlySky i6 (https://fpv-racing-forum.de/thread/7624-meine-custom-flysky/?pageNo=1). Now I am using the X-Lite and am currently looking for custom cases. Unfortunately I don't like the handling of the EVO design ;)

Very cool, I'll be interested to see how this turns out!

Can't wait to make this happen. Will order some gimbals since I have an X-lite in need of this mod!!
Thanks!

Can't wait for the final product on this. The Turnigy Evo is hands down my favorite controller. I just hate that I cant attach the R9 or Crossfire to it. The x-lite feels "ok" but nowhere as good as the Evo does in the hands. This is like the best of both worlds. Thanks for this.

Yeah me too, I Love the Evo but its range and functionally really let it down! I have had a break from working on this. But I'm back at it. After a few tweaks to some of the tolerances, I'm now printing Rev 2 as we speak!

Last question, have you tried it with the Evo power switch (does it plug right in) and how are you navigating through opentx without the keypad?

What internals does it use, the x-lite?

Mix :
X-Lite mainboard, LCD and controls.
Horus X10 gimbals
Evo on/off switch and arming switches

Not a problem.
The Evo power button is not plug and play. All of the x-lite switches work by pulling to ground. So you have to solder wires to both the evo switch and the xlite power button. Same for the navigation buttons I have purchased two 5-way switches to replace the xlite one and its D-pad. If you notice in my design the two holes below the LCD screen this is where they will go.
I will put up all my wiring once it is complete :)

Awesome, I'll get to buying those. I am on the last stretch of printing out the back and then I'll start putting it together.

Great! Would love to see some pics! I had to slightly drill out the hole for the power button and clip the plastic off it also.
As well as the circuitry for the power button, and the Gimbals needed trimming to fit. I'm also printing the back as we speak hopefully it all fits.

Thanks Kris. Can have a look at modifying once I'm finished for sure.

Impressive work!
Maybe you can make another version with replaced "area and button plate" to make possible adjust it for other projects. I think about mounting small display for FPV flights....
