This model is an update to https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2789338. The previous one, I printed using black PLA. A year and a half later, it did not survive the harsh outside environments of freezing cold, rain, sleet, summer heat.
This updated bracket is a remake to incorporate what little I have learned from 3D modeling.
It is designed to fit the Gen 1 Ring Doorbell (https://amzn.to/2X4ydRI) with the accompanying Solar Charger from OEM (https://amzn.to/2T37nu6).
Mount on the inside of the exterior door frame so it points outwards instead of the other side of your door frame.
Notes About Filament Material
My first Ring Doorbell bracket printed in PLA Black lasted about 18 months.
This time around, I am printing in White PETG and the model has less horizontal surface area for rain, snow, and other precipitation to accumulate.
Printed on a Prusa MK3 with no supports, no brim.
I also printed with 3D Honeycomb infill w/ Rectilinear Pattern at 40%. You can tweak this. The main load on this print will be about 30mm above the bottom line of screws. This is where the ring button is. You will have both compression focused at the neck of the two supports. Shear and bending force should be minimized with the supports as well.
