I have been spending a cold winter building an arcade unit. No style, lots of substance. Picked up a Spintrak arcade spinner for Arkanoid, Warlords, etc but did not want to drop the 70 USD for a stearing wheel accessory. Prints in three pieces and uses nine 4-40 X 1/2 sheet metal screws and nuts to hold it all together.
The three screws that hold the nut to the bottom are too long, so you can get away with shorter screws there.
Mine friction fit onto the dial but I can see that failing after a while so I intend to get a pipe quick clamp to fasten the nut to the spinner dial. You could probably scale the print down a point to get a better friction fit.
Added two different top sections. One with Mame Retro embossed in a cool art deco font and another blank with a domed centre.
I mounted the whole thing to a poorly conceived box which works ok for just the spinner but it needs to get bolted to something to use the steering wheel. I have included the STL for size reference only. I wouldn't recommend printing it.
Added a clamp to tighten the nut onto the spinner. You also need 6-32 X 1/2" sheet metal screw and nut and a couple of #6 washers. A wingnut would probably be a better choice but I don't have any of those in the right size.
Filamentum Flex Filaments.ca PLA for the wheel. TPU for nut
Only need support for the wheel bottom.
