great job
i look forward to see the video
In the meantime may I have a CAD file af the RC model for a better view of your project?
Which CAD are you using ?
I am using FreeCAD
Thanks

Cura has a physical slicing limitation that makes it so that it needs the walls of the initial stl file to allow 2 wall lines while slicing. Otherwise it will go wrong. I downloaded Slic3r and set up my printer on that. Slic3r works well after configuration and it's also free. In Slic3r, make sure to enable thin wall detection.

I don't know about Cura. I just know the S3D. But it is certainly a matter of setup. Probably what in S3d is called "Allow single extrusion walls"

can you print this plane with cura ?

can you check file for stl it wont print like the file is not right

I am seriously thinking about building this. my only question is, what infill are you using. there is nothing in the desciption or in the manual that says what it is. thanks.

there is no infill on the wings or fuselage, you will need to dial in your printer and your filament to get the thin walls to print perfect. I used some infill on motor mounts and landing gear, maybe 15%.

What is the motor mount size (Hole spacing)? what size of motor did you use?

Hey!
Dimensions as shown in file. I will upload a motor mount without holes - "uncut"

can you upload a version with a hollow wing for infill with insulation spray foam? its ligthweight and strong like hell

Do you mean a file with only the surface shape of the wing?
The point of weakness on the 3D printed plane is not the wing according to my opinion. There is engine mounting and landing gear attachment.

yes, the real weaknes is the weight, pla, abs, wathever filament you choose, is heavy like hell, abs is 1 gr/cm3 against balsa wood is 0.4 gr/cm3 and pla is 1.4 gr/cm3, making the shape of the wing of a single layer wall 0.4 and hollow and fill it with foam is a strong and lightweight configuration, i had printed another rc planes and the problem is not the strenght, is the weight

И вес "Weight ready to fly (Depending on your equipment): 2550 g".

Thank you for sharing! Have you already flown it?
Maybe you can share flight video?

Thank you once again!

Of course, I've been flying with the plane. It flies well, something else I would not settle for. Have no video but I'll do one next time I fly with the plane. Do not know when, unfortunately, winter with snow and ice outside my window.

I don't know if this is something obvious, but I can't print any piece of the body, the wall are not displayed on the preview and are not printed using Simplify 3D

This is a setting thing. On Simplify3D this may be due to Thin Wall Behavior. Try "Allow single extrusion walls" and "Allow single extrusion fill".

Thank you for the answer, I will try it tonight.

I get something like that in SLic3r as well. I was able to fix it by checking "detect thin walls". Not sure is S3D has that option or not.

Look at previous answers.
