How do you fasten the vtx to the body with this design? Aldo, have you noticed any problems with cooling of the vtx?

Hey there!

Might there be problems, if the frame is printed in PETG?

Comments deleted.

Hey man just like to say very nice frame I modeled one up about 8 months ago that is so similar to this it’s scary I never copied anyone or anything just started playing around but it litterally looks the same yours definitely has some improvements on mine though nice build will upload mine tomorrow

Thanks! I Guess great minds think alike :-D

Did you have any shrinkage going with cured PLA?

No pretty much none but I had a few people report really bad shrinkage. I guess there is a small percentage of PLA filaments that isn't suitable for it

Very Nice design simple and hard , Great Job , only one comment the motor holes are week can be broken easily..

awesome design, just out of curiosity what
props did you use?

Those are T-Motor 5143. My favourite props in terms of flight performance but also not very durable. They are super light and thin.

This is such a beautiful design! Thank you for sharing it! I have only built 3" and smaller quads, but I will seriously consider this for my first 5" build.

Question - Is there any chance that you could release a true-X version for freestyle flying?

Thanks man! Glad you like it. I'm not planning on doing a true X atm since it basically mean that I have to start from scratch.

No worries! I completely understand; it's funny how seemingly small changes to a design can have major effects. Would you be willing to share a STEP file of the bottom plate of the frame?

No Antenna included. if anyone orders this Package.

And the remote control of the link does not include an battery....

Oh you are right I forgot about the FPV antenna! I've added it to the list now.

And maybe an battery charger.

I've read that the infill matters, to few and the drone could get vibrations, too much and its heavyer and bad to fly. What have you guys tried?

The design is made for 100% Infill. It will still be pretty light :-)

Which Batt pack would you guys take? it's my first drone to build & fly

Some 4S 1300-1550mah Lipos.
Tattu FunFly are great:
1550 mah: https://www.banggood.com/custlink/D33DdzClTO
1300 mah: https://www.banggood.com/custlink/KmGDRkCa1b

Some people start on 3S but I don't think that is a good idea. You outgrow them really quickly and the your left with a bunch of packs you don't want to use anymore.

When you have the time, I'd love to see 6" and 7" versions for long range flights.

Trying a 6 or 7 inch version would indeed be interesting. But reaching the nessecary stiffness without making the frame too heavy might be really difficult. Maybe I will give it a try...
Anyways, I will release the 3” version soon. Just waiting for the Banggood stuff to arrive so I can build and test.

I just realized there's a build plate limitation. A 6" may still fit on the Prusa MK3 plate, but looks like 7" is definitely out.

Also, iFlight has a 7" carbon frame on sale right now for $25, so printing one is not as competitive.

Nice design, Will it fit a 200mm bed?

An easy way to tell is to download the STL and import into your slicer. Here, I did it for you: 206.63 x 177.54 x 11.00 mm. Fits on my Prusa MK3 nicely after rotating 90 around X and 90 around Z.
