What is the cost to build this project, not including the 3D printed parts?

An easier solution, as suggested by someone on Instructables, is to use a 5 VDC cell phone charger and switch to power the lasers. This would very well, and only cost a few dollars.

My cost was about $18 for parts. The Adafruit PowerBoost 500 board is $9.95; Lasers $1.53/ea, Transistor and resistors ~$0.50, battery ~$1, battery holder ~$1, switch and LED ~$0.50. I purchased most of this components off of Aliexpress or eBay, and the battery was salvaged from a Laptop battery pack. Wixey has a Drill Press Laser Guide that operates similarly to this for $40.
