i have tried twice now, long prints to for the gears, and both times, had massive layer shift at the top?
anyone else? wasted some real good filament to.

Layer shifting can happen due to multiple things. Printing too fast and the steppers losing steps, and mechanical issues like loose belts or drive pulleys. Over-extrusion can also cause shifting if the nozzle catches on the parts and causes the belts to skip. You can use Z-hop in your slicer to work around over extrusion, but it's usually better to fix the over-extrusion and make sure all your belts and pulleys are tight.

Cheers mate, yea I think it was the cables at the back of the ender 3,
I actually did a bit of jerryrigging lol, I managed to pull the shifts off in one, flipped them over and glued them,
