Cooler stand for gaming laptop. It blows air to the back of the laptop and directly into the cooling fan intakes. It increases the cooling air volume and also cools the back cover which is also part of the cooling system in gaming laptops. Most gamers use an external keyboard, so this stand also raises the screen to eye level to avid back pain from long gaming sessions. For me this setup dropped 7-15 degrees in CPU temps and completely eliminated thermal shutdowns. If you CPU/Chipset allows, you can also increase your CPU power envelope by 5-10%. The stand is fully metal reinforced.
I started with a cheap wire-frame stand
and used a 5V 120mm fan with a steel protector mask
To keep the "slippers" in place I used an M4 threaded rod
The slippers are reinforced with M3 screws inside
Also use thin foam sheets to protect the back and front of the laptop where it touches the stand
Any PETG and PLA
Try to use PETG for the parts, but PLA will also work just fine. ABS may be overkill and it may get warped due to the largish print area.
