I tried download after download. could not find one that would work for me the way I wanted. every time I tried to edit the files they would come out broken enough to not be sliceable.
SO I ground away in fusion (something I am NOT familiar with) and made the base from scratch and it worked great!! finally.
The Gem was easy. I still can't do the wings (I am sorry to whoever made these I have edited it so many times from so many files I have no idea whos download them came from)
I printed it at 245mm tall all scaled the same size. I used an Ender 3 and a CR20 to print these.
The base is easy. 3x3x3 20% infill in Ziro Bronze filament.
the gen in maker geeks crystal green (any transparent green will work)
The wings in maker geeks crystal yellow (again any trans yellow)
I would like to later put a hole for an LED for the wings but its not needed.
NOW the gem and wings are special. to get the look and make them strong enough they are printed on my monster ender 3.
1.2mm nozzle! 30mm/s .2mm layer height in VASE MODE (both)
Wings I put 3 bottom layers GEM has NO bottom layers.
hot glue it all together installing this light (gutted from its enclosure)
be sure to hot glue both sides of the PCB to hold those wires and keep them from being yanked and hot glue the wire into the channel built into the bottom as tension relief.
The wings WILL NOT SLICE properly in most slicers. their will be errors. only ONE slicer was able to slice it cleanly and that is Slic3r PE (prusa edition) it sliced them perfectly.
SO I have included the Gcode for that. if you have an ender 3 or larger build volume printer (220x220x250 or larger) so any of its clones or CR-10 mini or CR-10 or any of their clones etc..) AND a 1.2mm nozzle then this gcode will work for you just adjust speed and temps to suit your filament selection (keep it slow unless you know what your doing 1.2mm nozzle even at .2mm layer height is 300% the volume of plastic per mm of extrusion as a .4mm nozzle) and you probably need to print on the hot side. I printed this at 230c
I tried to make my own wings in fusion and for the most part its easy but I can't figure out how to do the "contoured surface" that the model has and it does not look right without it. once I figure that out I will update the model files.
Good luck. I am working on finding an easy way to make a smaller portable one that you say insert a cheap "pen light" into to make it work. more later on that one.
I made this as a christmas gift for a friend. he likes lol. :-)
its all just hot glued together. plug into USB port or charger or power bank and flip the switch.
