Its pretty obvious in the 1.0.3 MMU 2 board firmware the hold current of the motors was reduced to a reasonable level. Update your FW and this cooling fan is not needed.

Also that sucks to hear about your original problem, they should make any parts that need to be temperature resistant out of ABS.

It just proves once again that It's not a bad idea to hold off Prusa and many innovative products until they develop a little maturity and a couple updates.

hmm.. how hot does this get??? surprised to see a need for this fan..

some have had issues with the shaft melting the PETG pulley bearing selector drum. The plastic gets soft and it pulls the bolts away from the slot in the shaft and then the drum moves and it can slip into the wrong position.

the motor does tend to get hotter then the others as it is constantly powered to hold the bearings in position.
