Hi, I was reading through the complete setup but could not really find out what the use of this device ist. It reads RFIDs and is used in a library, but for what? Do the books have RFID tags? Why is there a need for more than one?

It's for tracking client/staff interactions in a library setting (or any customer facing setting really). I outline the full problem in another blog post. Our funders have asked us to track five different types of client interaction and this is an attempt to make that tracking easier as you can place the boxes at the point of interaction reducing time between interaction and recording.

The RFID was to simplify the recording process for staff, you could even replace it with a push button like this project. Each box records a different type of interaction, which is triggered by the reading of an RFID tag, hence having more than one.

It's still a work in process but seems to be working well.
