Hi, Can you please attache the Eye-pieces as well? I cant find them in the folder.
Great design! Thumbs up!

Anyone able to post an stl with the ears hollowed out? I tried using meshmixer to cut the hole, but it deforms the whole model. How is everyone carving the hole in the ear piece.

have a look at the remix section.

did anyone else have trouble removing supports off of the big piece? is there a better way to do it?

Can someone pleaseeee help with printing helmet_type2_part1.stl I've been trying for 2 days to get this to slice with/without supports, Ive tried tree supports and everything but nothing I generate seems to work..

A .stl with tree supports for the overhang would be amazing!

I did tree support and flipped it upside down so it starts at the top of the helmet. I just finished it this morning.

Are magnets used? If so what size?

Which way is the best way to print the helmet?

I'm kinda lost with the parts, which parts I need to print to have the full mask?
Thx!

to get a full helmet you obviously need to print all of the parts (means also all files)
which file is which part is shown on the 8th image
don't see anything unclear there ...

i think they recently updated this.. last week, there were more files available (mask was split into 2 parts, plus some .thing files). Even now there are 2 different helmets (Rev 1 and Type 2). The Helmet Type 2 is split into 2 parts.. I think you either print the Rev 1 or Type 2 helmet, and print everything else.

So for some reason I've had to trial and error the mask on several different files from different sources and this was my outcome.
I've added tree supports to this one and it decided it wanted to add a random support and also not create one of them from the base so I'm still in the process of making. hopefully everything goes well this time.

I print the mask with no support. Make sure you add brim.

Your modelling is so great. plz try your hands on mk 46 helmet as well.

My "mask" piece fell 3/4 of the way through the print. Did you rotate it or add in supports?

Anyone else have to size up the ears to fit in the ear spots?

What magnets were used?

I've got trouble putting together both helmet parts. Does anyone have a hint or picture of the joint lines?

how did you print helmet_type2_part1.stl ? with supports or as it is? maybe someone can show me

this part needs support.if you don't need, rotate 180 and set some support.

have rotated it 180 and printed with tree supports. now its all printed. now I do not figure out to assemble it xD do I have to glue it together? but how can I put this thing on when glueing together? use magnets? where to put them?

edit:
ok, maybe I figured out how. the back parts shoould be glued together and the faceplate with the chin? then placing magnets between the faceplate and the upper part of the helmet?

In which way did you rotate it 180? I'm low-key struggling to get this thing in a good position for printing

it can wled by soldering tool. mask and part2 needs to gule the magnet.

What did you paint the helmet with, the colors are great!

Has anyone had to size the helmet up?? I have a big head lol

My head, ear to ear, measures about 188 mm, while this helmet shows to be about 176 mm at its widest point, excluding the ear pieces. The main helmet part fits, though obviously it's a little tight. I can't put the helmet on with the helmet_rev_2 piece on because it narrows the opening to about 140 mm, and I had to hollow out the ear pieces in blender to give room for my ears.

would be perfect if the gold bit on the chin was a separate print ....please thankyou

The ear needs scaling up to fit.

What did you scale them too?
just over halfway through the face plate atm..

Scale by 106%
