Ah, I do not have access to the new Hitachi batteries and never came about to designing a set. I may look into this in the next month or so - A friend has the new tools with the new batteries...
Did you happen to find any thingies in thingiverse that could be remixed to make what you need?

Thanks to your suggestion regarding looking for remixed things, I was able to find a plate that should work. I just finished printing it yesterday and now I need to wire everything up.

Ah, great— would be great if you posted your solution when you have it down

That would be AWESOME! No, I have not had any luck finding anything that would work.

I am despratley trying to find an adapter that will allow me to use the new hitachi batteries (18v slide) with the older 18v stick style tools. I ordered one on ebay but it was for 12v and 14v and didn't fit.

Could you be of any assistance?

What specific female connector/receptacle did you scavenge the electrical connectors from? I bought a couple at home depot and they didn't look quite adequate.

I used the guts from a cheater plug, ~$1.
I actually got the same type as in the photo in this wikipedia article (only mine was white).
Note that I turned two small brass posts on my lathe and then brazed (silver soldered) the cheater plug part on it, as I show in the photo, then snipped the male blade off.
