MakerBot Print is our newest print-prepration software, which supports native CAD files and STL assemblies,
allows you to interact with all your printers via the Cloud, and many other exciting new features.
This is a webbed hand customizer to create a webbed hand for swimming.
It is like a swim paddle, but printed in TPU it is flexible and you can use your hands for example to grab the ladder to exit the pool, or you can handle a ball playing water polo.
You can set the hand shape and webbing in different thicknesses, but I would print the hand shape 1.5 or 2mm thick as it gives a bit of rigidity to the object.
As a round paddle like the one I published before (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3160875) made of TPU would bend and not push water, this is a more suitable shape...
There is a video with a description of the setting and one with an example creating a new one. It is pretty easy, probably 10 minutes to set it up, maybe a print test to set the finger rings properly dimensioned and located and it is done....
The rings are a bit difficult to print very thin, so I would make them 2mm thick unless your printer is very good at bridging very thin parts.
I will probably modify the rings when I get better idea...
I created these links where you can find all common filaments and spare parts at the best prices. These are just links to selected eBay and Aliexpress items, where I normally buy spare parts and materials for my printer, prices are excellent and products are good. If you buy something from here you will support me a little bit to make these projects.
