Will these work for the D9/500?

no, these won't work, the D9-500 ones about twice as long

Please make the inner holes bigger, they can be even a bit larger then M3 as the screw goes directly into carriage.

Thanks for the feedback.
Point is noted, but the 'smaller' hole was deliberate to allow the M3 bolts to 'self tap' the carriage print and hold it in place much more securely without having to significantly tighten them down / potentially crushing and warping the carriage print.

If they were 0.5mm larger, depending on the printer, the holes become too loose, relying only on the compression of the part to hold it in place

Please be sure to add a 'like' and a 'make' if you've made it and any other feedback is great also

Happy to make the holes slightly larger if you have a sensible requirement, I'll likley redesign the carriage at some point in the coming month s to use Fusion360 instead, that'll allow me to remove the 1mm clearance easily from the MGN12H part on the underside so it's a tighter fit

Hi and thanks for reply. what happens is that having thread in both parts will prevent from pulling them together as the bolt will stop rotating once head reaches the top surface. Same happens in wooden parts hence the shank on wooden screws.
I think this article explains it better.. https://www.albanycountyfasteners.com/blog/2017/09/11/why-do-wood-screws-have-a-shank/

Hi

Was a clone Hiwin style rail - MGN series
And the MGN12H type carriage

Just make sure you purchase from well reviewed resellers - I got stung and picked up 3x duff carriages from an aliexpress company that had a few mentions in CNC forums....

don't buy the cheapest - if they arrive and don't move quite freely on the rails, then they won't ever move that freely

Hi, nice work. Could you please tell me what model Hiwin linear rails you used?

Yes, it’s better! Less bed ‘wobble’ so the layers lay down on top of each other a little more consistently. It still has the same 30x30 printing area also!

Next step is the X axis :-)

Hi! Nice work!
Is it better now?
And the size of printing still the same 30x30?
