Hola, imprimí este proyecto para un trabajo de mi escuela, y me ha costado mucho trabajo hacerlo funcionar e identificar el problema. Claro que hice varias modificaciones, por ejemplo al eje le agregue un cuñero y al cigueñal y a la llanta les agregue un cuñero, a su vez cambie el diametro de las piezas cuyas fotos adjunte, debido a que no encontre el balero que necesitaban. ¿Puede ser que por estos cambios el motor no este funcionando?

A couple of questions about the circuit:

1) Would this work with more power if the switch were used to reverse the voltage polarity as opposed to just open the circuit? I assume a 4 lobe cam would be required.

2) Have you considered putting a diode across the coil to surpress the voltage spike that occurs? It seems the switch contacts would burn out quickly without it due to arcing.

1) I think you're right. If you invert the polarity instead of leaving it off I should run doubling the power.

2) I don't know about this improvement. My switch runs whitout problem, but I don't know if its better to make your suggestion. Try it and let me know if you can.

It is common practice to add a diode or snubber network across contacts that are switching current on and off in an inductor.. When the switch opens, the current does not stop flowing instantaneously and creates a high voltage causing arcs across the contacts. The switch may operate for a while but could fail prematurely due to this effect. If you were switching with a transistor it would immediately fail.

Hi thanks for making this i've been looking for one for forever. just one question, what is your power source. i use a rc car battery and it overheats in 5 seconds so i'm looking fore something else. thanks

The problem of the solenoid is that aaaalways overheats. Anyway I use 12V 1A and it keeps at acceptable temperatures.
You can use a fan to cool it a bit, im working on that on the version 2.

Printing it. should be fun. did not see file for the o-ring pulley, I guess the little tab unit goes in its place. Got a spool of bell wire I almost threw away. now I have a useless use for it! maybe i'll use this to power the crank air raid siren project on thingiverse !!

i don't upload the pulley because its still a work in progress, maybe in the future.... But if you need it I can send it to you.
