Whoops, sliced without supports and started this alongside like 25 other parts in a 40+ hour print... it seems like the printer managed OK though, haha. I don't know if the part will be usable but at least it didn't ruin the plate. Thanks for sharing this design, it's the only side-mounted spool holder option I could find for the Bear. Will pair very nicely with a reverse Bowden setup. :)

Good day;

I like this spool holder but I have one spool type that does not fit. Would you consider making it an inch and a half longer and make the outer end a quarter inch smaller (1/8 inch off the circumference) ? Then all my various spools will fit.

Hi there,

would you mind to provide me the entire length (width) of your spool and the diameter of the center hole?
I have already a few variations done and need the absolute values to provide you with the correct spool holder arm.

Thank you and best wishes,

Hi Martin;

The length (width) of the spool is 3 3/4 inches and the diameter is 1 1/4 inches. This size would allow for all my spools to fit.

Thank you and have a great day.

Hi Keith,

if my calculations were correct, 3 3/4 inches is 9.525 cm, and 1 1/4 inches is 3.175 cm.
So I rounded it accordingly to 10cm and 3cm.

If this is correct, then I'm happy to announce that the spool holder handle, which fits your spools, is uploaded!

Please report if it suits your needs and please share your results with hitting the "Post a make" button.

Best wishes,

Okay, thank you. Hang in there, I will prepare the arm for you within the next three hours, I hope!

Best wishes,

Hi Martin;

Excellent! Perfect fit!

I made a second one or the other side of the Bear. I posted a MAKE

Thanks again.
