Best halloween pumpkin. I have made one 375% zoomed :D

This is my favorite Jack-O'-Lantern print. The surface texture looks and feels organic. I made a Time-lapse video of me printing this on my Seemecnc Orion Delta 3D Printer here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hcfdXQMf8Q

In your video you should print the stem in a different colour, green or grey looks best I think.

Why did it take 11 hours, what size did you print it at?

Printed one, looks great but I have a problem: the stem file seems to be damaged, incomplete, Slic3r couldn't repair. any suggestion?

I too have trouble with slic3r (v1.1.7) on stem. many " Unable to close this loop" messages and gcode/print of stem stops quite early.

Hi, not sure what to suggest. I am not a Slic3r user. Others are continuing to print this model successfully.

There may be minor flaws in the model that Slic3r is sensitive to.

ReplicatorG and MakerWare seem to be working well.

I also get problems when slicing the stem in Slic3r Prusa Edition. I haven't ever had the need to use another slicer. I tried uploading it to netfabb's online model corrector too, but to no avail. Has anyone found a way to get this model to slice correctly using Slic3r?

This is cool, just printed one, kids love it. This I find better than the other one that was featured, mainly because you left holes for the mouth, and you really want the light to shine out the teeth too, which you can't to with makielabs one.

Thanks for the positive feedback! When designing this I enjoyed the challenge of making a fun and functional object that was, at the same time, optimized for 3D printing.

I have one printing at 213% scale right now and it's turning out great! It's an 18 hour 20 minute print at that size, running at 50 mm/s. I plan to put a couple of LED flickering tea lights inside of several of these for Halloween this year. Thanks for a great design!

Sounds great! please post a picture when you get them finished.

Turned out great! Long print (17 hrs) to make the pumpkin body at 16 x 16 cm, but I could easily hide a couple Arduino's inside it :)

Wow, very nice! I think yours is the biggest one I've seen so far. Long print time. What feed rate were you running?

No idea about Feed rate, but it took forever... I think it was 15 hrs for the body and then 3 hours for the top two parts. Printed at 50/sec on my Ultimaker. Could probably have printed it at twice the speed, but not without sacrificing the finish. Took a lot of filament despite just 20% infill...

Time lapse video printing this on a Replicator. Thanks again for the great model. I just drop in an electric tea light from the dollar store.

I had to print 3 of these things because my daughter and her boyfriend absconded with the first two. :)

I made 4, and they are all gone! I put an electric tea light inside, they look great at night.

I printed the 3 parts at 1X scale. Great job SSW! The surface detail is very realistic, and the parts fit together nicely. The square hole underneath the stem was a nice surprise.

I tried one at 1.7X size, and ReplicatorG could not display the gcode or create the SD file. Too bad, I think this needs to be big! Could you possibly upload a version with less detail?

Well, the bumpy surface texture was sculpted at this mesh level. Not sure what I can do and still keep enough detail. I'm thinking...
