Any clue what I'm doing wrong to get the threads to start at the base, rather than 60+ layers up it?

I use Slic3r to slice the STL and it worked fine for me. I'm aware of some issues with where I joined the thread mesh to the pickle mesh. I will see if I can fix it with some other program, but in the meantime, please try Slic3r if you can.

Thanks, I sliced it with Slic3r this time to see how that works out. Hopefully I have it all set up correctly. Lol

What slicer are you using? I'm having trouble with the beginning of the threads in cura and simplify3d.

I use Slic3r in Repetier-Host. When I load the STL onto the bed, it does show up as non manifold, but whenever I repair it, it puts a polygon over the entire thread area! My slicer was able to make the gcode for the non-manifold STL and I was able to print it just fine. When I loaded it in Slicer3D, though, I also didn’t have any issues meshing.

Is the issue where the hex threaded area meets the pickle?

Yeah the issue is at the hex, the hex is a cavity, and the threads in that section are male. I am messing around in meshmixer to try and fix it, if I fail I will download slic3r.

Thanks for the model!

Thanks for such a great model! It’s my favorite handle! Cheers!
