Nice idea and good job.

looking forward to using this, i always seem to have some filament stuck on my printhead, waiting to ruin my first layer.

just a question, is there a reason you use the nylon brush, and not a metal bristled one? does the nylon not melt?

hi sorry i didn't reply to you thingiverse usually emails me when there's a comment. nylon has a much higher print temp than most filaments. so unless your actually printing in nylon you should have no problems. metal bristles would be pretty abrasive against the soft brass nozzle.

Your extruder gives alot of filament (video 2sec - 3sec)
How can I make it "longer" - i think i should modify line:
"G1 E19 F600 ; prime nozzle" - but how?
Should I increse "E19" or "F600"

if you would like to make it a longer distance of filament change E19 to a higher number. this is how many mm of filament it will do.
if you would like to change how fast it is moving the filament change F600. this is 600mm/s movment speed. so higher is faster lower is slower.

solved a problem i didn't think there was a solution to. great stuff! i prefer this to just doing a wipe.

i'm using an EZABL, so here's the starting gcode i'm using:

M75 ; Start Print Timer and Engage Fil Sensor
M84 E ; Disable E Motor for probe accuracy on direct drive systems
G28 ; home all axes
G28 Z ; home Z to get more accurate Z position
G29; EZABL mesh generation
G4 S10; wait for heaters to recover
G28 X0 Y0 ; home x and y at same time
G0 Z3 F5000 ; prep for prime and clean
G92 E0 ; zeroing extruder position
G1 E19 F600 ; prime nozzle
G0 X60 F6000 ; wipe nozzle
G0 Y30 F6000 ; clear of obstruction start print

i was running into an issue where if i stopped a print and started over, the second print attempt would run the extruder backwards and back all of my filament out. then if i stopped that print and started over, it would work normal again. every other attempt. the only work around seemed to be rebooting the printer before starting a print over. like there was some state being saved in the printer's memory from the previous print that was being changed from true to false or vice versa every time. just a guess.

asked for advice in a facebook group and someone suggested adding the "zero extruder position" line and that seemed to fix it.
in case anybody else runs into something like this.

Well I'm still running stock firmware, will be flashing this week some time. I'll post here if I have the same problem.

In any case I'm glad my mod has come in handy. I also greatly prefer this to doing a wipe or a skirt.
