Nice design, I live near CU and I am a big fan of the buffs

I love it!! I'm a CU alumni so I have been printing these like crazy. I'm making them into refrigerator magnets for my friends. The 0.3 mm gap that you added really allows the parts to snap together perfectly. Is sketchup where you started by bringing in the logo? I want to use this same idea to make other logos. I have Solidworks and have been attempting to do it there, which works, but Slic3r and skeinforge can't slice the model properly for some reason. Maybe I'll give sketchup a shot. Thanks for the awesome part!

I'm glad you like it so much! I love my prints too. I pass them out to all my friends who I went to school with.

I used Google Sketchup. I just imported the logo and drew lines around the edge with the "spline" tool. It makes it really easy to make curves. Let me know if you have success with it!

nice idea with the snap-togehter of different colours. did you add a gap in your 3D software between the two colours before printing?

Sure did! I think I added a 0.3mm gap. It was really easy to do with the "offset" tool in Google Sketchup.
