I finally got irritated enough with the differing commercial toilet paper dispensers in our office's two bathrooms. One accepts rolls with 3.25" tube while the other takes rolls with a 0.5" tube. At some point, one of the two types runs out and the incorrect roll is just left on a counter until the correct type is ordered. Now, they can just order twice as much of the toilet paper with the 3.25" tube and, when we run out of that size, everyone can be irritated together.
Edit: Had the incorrect external diameter, but it has been updated.
