Wanted to mount my modem to the same spot where my surf board is. The old modem had a way to hang on the wall. Unfortunately, the new Motorola MB8600 Modem didn't. So, I decided to play around with Fusion 360 and ended up with this.
It's pretty strong. You might even be able to get away with just printing one.
I printed with 3 bottom layers, rectilinear, 4 top layers, and bridging for the screw holes so that I didn't have to add supports; even though you still could.
I utilized Simplify3D to slice the STL.
Used a box cutter to remove stray pieces of plastic with overhang on the bridging on the screw holes.
Step 1 - Modeling
I created a base profile of the modem in Fusion 360.
Step 2 - Creating Mount
I combined all components making up the base model of the modem and used it to cut out a shape for the mount.
Step 3 - Finishing Up
I added screw holes and hollowed out parts of the mount with hex patterns to use less plastic and give the part more flexibility when being attached to the modem.
