Not focusing on just this model I have tried a few. Learn how to use supports and you will be much better off. But then again I print fast and not so pretty and this just gets in the way

Hello i have a Ender 3 Pro printer, what files i have to print ? I have not bltouch or other things. The printer is stock.

Please make a model in "STEP". I can’t open the "f3d" format that I have in order to mount the clock indicator ИЧ-2.

Hey, I printed for a stock ender 3, I have issues with the holes that hold the fan duct onto the base, the screws that come with the blower fan are much slimmer than the holes on the base causing it to wobble quite a bit, so i used two screws from the other fan which worked better but dont fit near the blower fan causing it to sag on the right and hit my prints. what size screws should be used and anyone else had similar issues?

I have printed this for stock fans. On Ender 3. But after installing the hot end fan (on front) it blows inside out, and I can't screw it down other way. Is this correct? Or should I switch the fan rotation direction, or should I mount fan rotated with longer screws?

What is the Offset (y/X) by BLTouch ? -75x and -10 ist it correct????

I have a Petsfang Duc and Ender 3 Pro (with a standard fan). Now I purchased two 5015 - I want to print Petsfang Duc for 5015. But I found Hero Me Fanduct now I don’t know which one to print from them. What's better? Also, you and Petsfang have a version for one 5015 and two - which is better (I just start typing, I understand very little)

Of course we think the Hero Me is better than the Petsfang, and DPetsel will tell you the Petsfang is better. Both work great to help you make better parts. The Hero Me is more compact and has a broader set of supported fan types. You will have to decide.

Warning: the 5015 piece mounting brackets are extremely fragile. Do not under any circumstance use a power screwdriver on them. I am not a smart man.

Only when printed in the wrong orientation. Print the cooling ducts with the front face of the duct down flat on the build plate. This will give the strength needed for the wing that holds the 5015 fan. Use supports, but only from the build plate. Improved BLTouch mount for Hero Me Fan Duct (Ender 3, CR-10)

The bottom of the pipes/duct should be in the same z-offset as the tip of the nozzle? or a big higher? If so, how much?

When the hot-end nozzle is touching the build plate, the bottom of the part cooling duct should be between 1mm and 2mm above the build plate (varies due to differing hot-end and nozzle combinations).

Thank you, it's better to know for sure. As low as possible is a bit subjective. My ABS hero me was working great until I had to remove it to have a all metal heatbreak. The base cracked when remounting and I have to print it again :)

Hi, I printed this fan. It helps cooling but I have two problems:

  • the upper hole in the screw lock doesn't perfectly match with my ender 3 hole
  • the cable arm passage is too small and my 4010 fan rest against the cables and is not sitting straight
    The rest is good and thank you for this model

Assuming you are staying stock and will re-use your current fans and screws, then you want the Base.stl, Screws_lock.stl, and the 4010_Pipes.stl. If you are going to add an ABL to auto level you bed, then depending on which ABL tech you buy, you would select the appropriate mount for that ABL (I use the EZABL from th3dstudio.com). Thank you for the design, it works wonders. I had a problem of one of the duct endings bending a bit somehow. I guess it is because it touched the bed at 70º but that still seems king of weird.
Any ideas of the problem? (I'm priting a different one with more walls)

I've been having clogs since I installed it... Like never ending clogs, that I couldn't fix with replacing bowden tube and nozzle. Took apart the hot end, cleaned it, no gap between tube and nozzle and it clogs like there is no tomorrow.

Could this have anything to do with fanduct? I've been having these clogs since I installed it!

Check to see where you have the height set for the part cooling ducts. It should be as low as possible to point directly at the tip of the nozzle. If it is higher and air is hitting the nozzle body and even the hot-end, it may be a possible cause. Is there any way to align the duct at the correct spot? the bottom of the duct should be in the same axis has the tip of the nozzle, or lower?

Thanks for the design, I printed in ABS and designed a new mount to my 3dtouch (I can't use the other ones because my X-axis stopper has been modified because of a damper+x-axis inversion) - I'll eventually post it when it's tested.

Hello, is it Save to Print and use This with PLA? will it melt ? What Material do you use?

While PETG is better, yes it is safe to use PLA if you have a silicone sock over the hot-end. So withf these early Hero Me versions, the part cooling ducts are closer to the hot-end. Can you make a version of the 4010 duct with a deeper and wider channel for the wires? My wires are too thick to fit into the channel and let the duct slide up without interference from the wires.

i have had to print the 4010_pipes 5 times now, (and switch to 0.1mm layer height instead of 0.3) because the connectors that hold the top piece and the fan duct together are flimsy, bound to break and, once broken, make it so you have to print the entire thing again. i know that a lot of engineering went into designing the airflow for this thing, but i would have appreciated it if some more time was put in this part of the design.

Same issue as you... but my heatpipes always end up warped after a week of using it as well. Kind of a dinky design.

which material do you use to print the pipes?
do you have the same issue with the base or not? (if yes, which material?)
what temperatures do you normally print on?

Top quality design, printed it on a stock Ender 3 , PLA , 200deg hotend, 60 deg on the build plate ,0.1 layer, 70% infill ,60 mm /sec speed ,support and raft switched on. Sliced on latest CURA ,13 hours to print.
Wow ,one of the best prints yet perfect fit on the Ender 3 ,40 minutes to clean up the print then 1 hour to polish it ready for a first coat of primer / filler 2nd coat tomorrow and then a finishing coat .

I printed and added this to my printer yesterday and noticed that the right side sits higher then the left also if i raise the left to match the right it seems to be a bit higher up then it should (looks to be blowing on the flat sides of the nozzle not at the tip). Is this normal or perhaps did my print not come out perfect.

Ok, some additional feedback. I'm not much of a designer (aka I'm not a designer) so I don't have the skills yet to remix this. With that being said I have a few suggestions.
1) Change the mounting of the fang to use 4 screws vs the 2 small ones from the original blower. I have a bit of play in the fan housing that could bump it up or down.
2) make the mounting slots a little wider so as to accommodate item 1.
3) Adjust the fang on the right side to shift about 1-2 mm I'm guessing to the right. As I said in an earlier comment it's pretty much resting on the silicon sock, which is probably not good. I tried to jiggle it a little but no luck.

I think if you change the 2 slots to a wider and slightly thicker slot to maybe use a M3 screw it would be more rigid and stable. You could even make it have a screw slot similar to what you have now so you can adjust height a little more easily. If I can figure out Freecad or tinkercad I might try but, my skills are, well, non-existent. :)

I see you posting these remixes but none of them will take the stock fan.

Look at my profile and my many remixes of the Hero series , there are at least three that support the stock fans.

I have to agree with Josparky, if you have designs that support the stock fan you need to rename your files. Every file I see for the base unit includes "5015" in the name.

I am updating all my Hero Me remixes this weekend. I will work to get the naming clearer. All of the module additions (ABL mounts, parts cooling ducts) are cross compatible with all the Hero Me bases (including this original), with one exception. I am adding support for the E3D V6 Volcano, due to the increased height of that hot-end that base is unique and the part cooling ducts for that one are specific to that base.

hmm, I don't know if maybe my calibration is off a little bit or what, but the right side (blower side) with stock blower the "fang" is touching just barely the corner of my silcone sock on the hot end. I'm going to try and "Adjust it" down a little but not sure if that is a sizing issue or not. Otherwise, so far it's doing well, trying to print my first test cube with this bad boy on the machine. :)

Hello, have you considered 5015 version with fan axis parallel to the ground?

Those bearings are no fans of working mounted diagonally.

I like the Hero me fan duct but I have found that the spacing for the wires going to the hot end is not enough and it pushes the blower fan over at the top. It would be nice if it was moved over more giving the blower fan more room. Can you modify it slightly?

Why are there two EZABL mounts with different X and Y offsets? Is there a reason to go with one or the other?

The closer one works with the 5015 fan duct, but if you're using the 4010, you'll need to use the 45.75X_10Y one.

I've done my latest set of mods to your excellent design for those who want dual 5015 fans. I have also updated the single 5015 fan duct for easier printing (flat front no supports needed, prints clean) as well as a wider channel in the inside front face to make it easier to mount 5015 fans that have a different alignment of the seam weld that hold the two halves of the fan case together. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3182917

Well done!

Really like the compact size, and printed the 5015 single pipe to use the close ABL mount. However, I recommend increasing shell wall count, and I'll be printing it again at angles to increase strength. Not a modeller yet, but would strengthen a few areas, and make some parts bigger. The channel for the wires are nice and clean, but too small. My wires push the fan out. I removed some of the tape (Ender3) to help.

A little arm on the left side of the wrap around pipe reaching up in to the guide channel of the base would be great to help support it better too (and screwed in).
Using it now! found water test worked really well. Needed a bit of hot glue to hold it together while I print another set. :)

I haven't mounted this yet, but to those wondering about orientation and supports, this video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPvLKSClShc&t= ) will show you how to orient. For supports on the pipes (4010 at least), i found support only touching build plate with 40% supports worked. You may want to add a little extra support to the screw tab that goes through the base on the side the fan goes (4010). One of those supports failed, but still gave a workable print. The ducts print without support though, otherwise you'll just fill them with the supports. Print slow (40mm for the main speed) and it should do fine. I did supports everywhere on the base, but it might be ok just touching the plate. Everything fits together for me after the cleanup, will mount soon on my Ender 3 and report if any problems.

I'm a little puzzled by the mounting for 5015 fans, though. Is the intent to have them just snap in place with no screws to secure the fan? I find myself wanting a little boss for the fan's lower right screw to attach to (see attached view of the model).

Thankyou for your efforts making a good upgrade and include both fan types and all kind of senseor holds! I was thinking over what cooler upgrade to chose for my Ender3 and yours seems to be the best easy to handle solution. I have 2 questions though:

  1. Why did you make the cross ribs, vertical and horizontal inside the main (base) body airflow duct? Do they actually help to distribute air flow?
  2. I couldn't find 4010 pipes in your source file. Can you please include it?

I printed this for my Ender 3 and when I went to mount it, the fan duct for the stock fan on the back bumps into the mounting plate for the hot end.

Obviously, one needs to use supports - perhaps someone found a clever way to reduce the amount of supports to a minimum...

No, there is no other good way. You can reduce the support density maybe (I used 20% but supports were quite hard to break)

What position did you set to print out the 4010_Pipes? Did you use support? If I use, the slicer fills the air routes with support elements - and i think it's not good for the flow.

Ok I've done two attempts. The first one failed I believe because I had a clog in my tip. but the second one it just seemed to fall apart . What setting are you suggesting with the slicer? fill temp for PLA etc?

print them at at slow speed (40/50mm/s) and print the parts speratly :)

Hi, I have a question about 4010 pipe. I printed it and I am pretty sure that the right pipe is unable to blow. Is there a way to print it and be sure that the pipe is empty?

I'm having the same problem. no infill and no only buildplate supports.

Hi, I really like the design, but the airflow is too low for me. Has anyone else the problem? Less air then other fangs and not near the nozzle.

Waiting eagerly for 4010 fan updated duct version. This looks like the best cooling solution out there for my Ender 3. Keep up a good work a hope you can get your lost work back.

Yes, the right side “lock” of the base is very difficult to mount… glad you are working on that. The 4 fingers on the 4010 and 5015 pipes are way too fragile. I have printed the 4010 pipes 5 times now and every time the fingers break while trying to remove support material. May I suggest joining the two fingers on each side and modify the base to accept them, otherwise these will just be too weak. I would like to promote this cooler in my videos on my youtube channel but need to get it to print acceptably first. Thank you!

I already fix the mount of the 5015... but the 4010 will need a complete re-done... by a funny mistake from Fusion 360, I lost the file... It doesn't upload correctly... and thanks to a backup I did, I didn't loose everything... but I'll work on the pipe as soon as I can... thanks for the feedback...

What is the difference between the file 5015_Pipes and 5015_Pipe ?

"5015_Pipe" is thinner/smaller and blows from 3 sides to get the abl sensor closer to the nozzel.

I printed it out and i found it quite hard to mount the base. I'd had to remove the X-axis wheel on the left, due to blockage when trying to slide in the base. The next thing, the stock hotend screws blocked on the fan guard of the base as well. I had to file a bit and pressed it down hard in order to slide in. For the pipe screw, i drill a bit with 1.5mm and it went in smoothly. Tested it with water beneath the nozzle and the fan 100%, kinda good...but i had to adjust the pipe a little bit to tune the angle of the air flow.

Sorry I didn't reply before... but was a little busy... I address some of the issues... I made the right holder smaller for make it easier to tilt the base for a easier mount... I fix the holes for the pipe's screws too... and some other small fix here and there... thanks for your feedback

Great design update! I see you came around to my way of mounting the base to the X gantry plate ;) I'm looking forward to printing this one and testing it out! Upon looking at the two screw mount pillars for the part cooling duct module, I am concerned that they are fragile. They are very thin (width-wise) when looking from the sides when attaching the screws. I would suggest a wider channel in the base and wider beam on the duct module to prevent breaking at the screw channel slots. The heater/thermistor cable channel could be a little narrower to compensate the space needed for the mount point channel bracing. My two cents worth.

There are a few other things that needs to be fixed... the screw holes for the "pipes" for example... I make them 2mm the first time, the screw didn't hold correctly... so I make them 1.5... they need a little help for the screws to get in.. but once the screw is inside, it holds incredibly well.

I was planning to work in some adapters... one for all those rings stock fanducts... and other for the new bulleye :P but I'm a little tired!!! I'll upload the source file... I'll clean it a little bit... then I'll make them public.. so anyone can create mods and do what ever they want with it.

can be mounted on the CR-10.. but just for microswiss and stock... the BLTouch mount is there too... I want to create the mount for V6, as I want to mount a V6 on my printer... but!!! a loot of things happening on my life right now! must save money!! my baby girl is close to born...

you design it, i'll use one of my two creality printers as a sacrifice to test fit everything LOL. i really really like this design way better then even the most popular one out there which i won't name, because it does work very well, but also makes your hot end look like a brick.

I must fix something... the mount is really really tight!!! so tight I break one base!! I took 1 bad measurement... but I'll fix it now and upload in a moment...

Really Nice Design! Bravo! Do you recommand to print it in PETG or ABS???? Do you ever have think about adding a little plate to the front to add a LED strip (On any light)?
