Print Thing TagSummary
Needed a platform for smoothing ABS and disigned this box. Still a work in progress. Looking to add a mount for a fan to circulate, but have to figure out a way to do it safely since concentrated acetone vapor and electricity don't mix. Obviously you'll want to print using a material that is resistant to whatever vapors you're using. I designed this with nylon in mind so I didn't want any tricky geometry or angles as well as a need for rafts or supports. Acetone goes in the box, place the lid over the top, place the platform on top of the lid with your part and place a your container of choice over the project. I'm using a large cylindrical glass vase from the dollar store and it works great. Dimensions of the box are 100mmx100mm so scale it to your needs. I haven't printed this yet, but the notches for the box and lid should fit with about .10mm of play. If I run into any issues I'll loosen the tolerances. Suggestions welcome!
