Hello! Please some advice:

  • Here in Portugal I have access to 10mm or 16 mm thick MDF . Which one should I use to make the side plates? 1/2 inch plywood is about 13 mm metric. Is 10mm mdf strong enough? I would prefer 16mm thick mdf but I'm not sure if the bolts used are long enough...

13mm better than 10mm, isn't there 15mm like in Spain? I would even say 20mm.
At least for xy plated, z enough 10mm

hi sir it ca cut aluminum? and how thick?

A question something "absurd" do not bother, you can cut practically what you want, but knowing and patiently, but almost everything ...

Hi! Im quite new to 3D printing so I apologize if the answer to my question is obvious. I really want to build the LR2 in 25mm. Is there an easy way to check what the actual size of the biggest part will be so that you can tell if the 3D printer has a big enough print area? I have access to a LulzBot Mini with print area: 152 mm x 152 mm x 158 mm (6 in x 6 in x 6.2 in)

I am not near the machine now but you can just put the XZ main into your slicer to verify but it looks to be 140mm.

Thanks! I'll go ahead and make an appointment with the guy whos got the LulzBot and just cross my fingers :) Cant wait to get started!!

Where can I get the 25mm tubes at? or the 25.4mm, thanks

UK B&Q 25mm steel tube 1m, not sure of thickness

Got mine from screwfix in UK

Great to hear, I've been looking at the same. My only concern is rigidity, do you know what the wall thickness is by any chance?

Local metal supplier or online, depends on where in the world you are. You might want to ask in the forums you are likely to get a much more local source there.

Hey man, busy printing the files... I can't find info about support, is it like the MPCNC, no support? Thanks a lot!

Nope no supports!

Should the infill for all the parts be the same as the MPCNC (55%)? Should some parts be more?

I have instructions on the parts page, but yes 30-55%.

I already cut the Y-Plate from 25,4mm, but i will use 25mm tube, will i have any problem?

Yes, the YZroller are further apart. Best to use the forums to get my attention quickly.

Hi again, i compared both files and pieces 25mm and 25,4mm and they are exactly the same, are you sure you made the changes?

:( well, is already cutted in aluminium, so i will try it anyway, i think the worst can happen is to create a bigger hole for the wheel.

I'm printing the parts right now and hopefully i will be able to assemble it next week :)

25 mm version, nice! Sorry for bullying you on your forums for it :).
