How about getting rid of this problem DUE TO A FUNDAMENTALLY BAD DESIGN !

I mean, sometimes one of the Z axis misses a step, not every time. I want an indicator if it happens. I do not know when and how the cause of the problem. This may be a firmware, electronic component, mechanical part, or power spike.

I know that. It is a DESIGN ERROR that the majority here refuse to admit . The majority of people here have no technical expertise, even none at all, can't even compute a gear ratio !
And why do you expect these two motors will stay in sync. mainly when the system is powered on/off ! There is NO feedback, encoder .....
It has been done as a quick, dirty and cheap solution by Prusa and copied over and over, some even going to 3 if not 4 motors !
When you see3 and 4, you know you are dealing with a jerk and his "design" is just good for the junk pile.
What Prusa does is to ram the Z at power on to "align" the 2 Z motor. Not the best of course. His choice. I prefer to have ONE Z motor and use belt and pulleys, it is even simpler and cheaper.
