This thing is awesome.

The only downside is it's fairly light and with the floor of the base being empty, it's a little difficult to attach any kind of anti-slide material to the bottom.

I was able to overcome the weight issue with a solid brass slug glued to the inside and some really thin double sided tape to attach anti-skid to the bottom. Now the mount can support the entire weight of the cord and wall plug hanging in midair without sliding off whatever it's sitting on.

Is there any chance on getting the original model files uploaded? I'd really like to remix this to make it ever so slightly taller at the bottom so the cord routing isn't such a tight bend and add a mostly solid floor to the bottom so attaching anti-skid is easier. The floor is easy enough to do with just the .stl, but adding height is rather difficult with the model's curves.

Hi Kirby207,

Thanks for the feedback. I've attached the Blender file that you can use to remix. If you're not familiar with Blender, let me know the height adjustment you'd like to make, and I can adjust it and also add a solid floor (with a cutout for the USB cable) and upload another STL file.

Thanks for the Blender file!

I'm not too experienced with it at all, I'm much more used to Fusion and 3DSM but I've been dabbling in 3D modeling as a hobby since the turn of the millenium, so I've got more than enough familiarity and past experience with so many other programs it's not too difficult to use brute force to figure out how to get what I want with the original file.

I tried to keep the original lines as best I could but with my limited Blender knowledge, stretching faces is about the best I can manage. I added 6mm of height and added a 1.5mm thick base with an 11x10mm cutout for the original GHM USB plug.

Google Home Mini Pedestal remix

Great model, it really compliments the curved design of the Google Home Mini. Nice work, thank you.

I was given a Tevo Tornado as a birthday gift a few weeks ago, and have just printed this for my Google Home Mini...absolutely love it. By changing the angle of it from being flat, it sounds a lot better too. Love it...
