Print Thing TagSummary
This Pentakis Dodecahedron model is optimized for printing on an SLA/resin machine like the Form2. It's delicate and pushes the limit of what you can 3D print on a resin printer; in particular, you'll have to have steady and gentle hands to remove the support material without breaking the model. If you want a sturdier model, scale it up to a larger size before printing.
To print on an FDM/filament printer like an Ultimaker, double the size of the resin model or download our previous thicker version.
Fun Facts about the Pentakis Dodecahedron:
-Has 60 faces, 90 edges, and 32 vertices
-Each of its faces is the same isosceles triangle
-One of the 13 Catalan solids
-Dual of the Truncated Icosahedron
-It's a Dodecahedron with five-sided pyramids added to each face
-If you make the pyramids a little taller, then pairs of triangles combine to make rhombuses and you get another Catalan solid, the Rhombic Triacontahedron (!)
