This is a mold kit for making Silicone Sock Insulators for the E3d old style Volcano heater block or clone. The sock wall thickness is 2mm.
OpenSCAD source is included. You can fully customizable it, if you want.
You'll need a high-temperature RTV silicone to make with:
Permatex 81878 Ultra Copper RTV Silicone Gasket Maker
or same one in Japan:
Monotaro High Temperature RTV Silicone Gasket Maker
1:Print the parts.
2:Apply a lacquer-paint to the mold surface to extend the life of the mold.
3:Apply soap water or oil wax to every mold surface and let it dry.
4:Fill the lower(bigger) mold with silicone.
5:Set the core mold to the lower mold.
6:The silicone must be raised from the parting line.
7:Fill the upper(smaller) mold with silicone.
8:Combine the molds and press it.
9:Secure the molds with clamp or rubber bands.
10:Just left it for one or more days.
11:Pull out the silicone plugs in the air vent.
12:Open the mold, Harvest! and trim it.
13:Return to step 3 if necessary.
