Beer Beer Beer
Here's a fully functional tap handle I designed with 3/4"-18 UNC threading that can be 3D printed. I experimented with melting Orange and Sky Blue Crayon Wax in the recessed logo to achieve the high contrast inlay on the design, however, enamel paint deposited with a syringe would also work quite well.
The following settings were used
Material = PLA or PETG, I used unbraded Black PLA
Infill = 30%, Rectilinear
Layer Height = 0.2mm
Supports Enabled = Yes, since the model should be printed flat, supports should be generated within the threaded mounting hole
Nozzle Temp = 202 C
- Bed Temp = 55 C
The standard Tap Handle Model shown in the photos is labeled as "REGULAR-Tap-Handle". If you happen to follow my approach of using melted Crayon Wax to create the inlays, be sure to apply a glossy or matte sealer after to prevent any melty accidents from occurring in the future
NOTE: The "stepped look" that occurs down the front face of the tap handle, just below the logo, was a biproduct of using a Layer Height = 0.2mm, so your results may vary depending on this parameter.
If you do not want to experience the joys and frustrations of adding your own custom inlays, I have also included the model files for Multi-Material printing, shout out to the Palette+ and Prusa MM owners out there!
