Does anyone have a better picture of the backside of the pen holder? I am not assembling it correctly. Thank you!

Tolerances. This build lacks tolerances. At least 0.20mm.
The smooth rod slots are desgined 8.00mm. 8.20mm is what it should be.
Without tolerances it needs a lot of filling and sanding. A Lot!

What size springs are needed?

Is possible to redesign plotter arm?
For transport i prefer turn 90 degrees moving arm. Is possible making this easy way?

hi, thanks for the design, I've built it and it is working quite well.

One issue I am having, is the weight of the drawing arm is causing the whole arm to droop a little bit. It seems that the source of the droop is that the middle component is a bit wiggly -- I'm wondering if you ever had this problem or know a solution? Perhaps I just need to fasten the middle component (the component sandwiching the linear bearings) in some way. Any ideas appreciated

Try 6mm smooth rods instead of the 8mm rods on the y-axis. Leave the 8mm rods on the X. There might also be a way to counter balance the arm, but I haven't come up with anything yet.

Hi there! If you still have his built somewhere could you post a picture of how the backside of the plotter is assembled correctly with the servo? Thanks so much!

I'll see what I can do. Once assembled it's tricky to get back there to see anything. Give me a couple of days... thanks!

That would be such a huge help! Looks like another couple of people have struggled here as well, so thanks in advance for the future builders, too!

Hello! After replacing my cable modem, I am back to upload some pictures. Hopefully helpful ones. Obviously the rods should be steel, but I can’t find loose rods in this size. Assembly order seems to matter. Make sure the pulley is assembled, with hardware, before securing the servo. The arm fits in the well on the back of the rod holding bracket. The pen holder should also be assembled prior to mounting the servo/block assembly.

disuclpe, una pregunta.
cual es la ubicacion Y funcion de la pieza EBAD 111,?

Hi, Thanks for another excellent robot, I have printed and made all three of your robots and they are great had a little more trouble with this one getting to work as I'm not a Arduino guy and normally use pololu on my projects and working out which servo horn to use to raise the pen made my head hurt (lol), thanks again

Can this hardware, do more with its z axis than pen up/down?

Specifically, could it be set to at least three, configurable, heights?

Hi thank you for the great design. Link Funck i would like to learn how to assemble the Y-axis pen holder. i am unsure on how to connect the servo to EBAD_121.

Hi, can you post how this anti-rotation on the pen-holder is assembled? and why is it 3,5mm rods, instead of 3mm, now that 3mm is easy to get from DVD-drives.

Which CNC shield are you using (and which do you recommend)? Thanks.

Thanks so much for publishing this.
Your design is much tougher than some others I've tried.
Mine is nearly together, just got to figure out which way the servo sits..

I'm interested in just the parts that make up the Z axis (pen holder) head. Can you tell me which part numbers I need for that? I think I've figured out most of them, but before I start printing several parts I don't need I thought I would ask.

Thank you. This is helpful.

Hello! Great Work looks really good. Before printing I was trying to figure out the functions of the pieces and I didn't understood the placement/function of EBAD_121.stl... What does it do? Where it is?

on the backside of 205, as an antirotation

Hi. Have you ever try to drive your drawbot whith LaserWeb 4? https://cncpro.yurl.ch/
It seems pretty good.

interesting ! ..... Thanks for the tip, touss1

With pleasure. If you test laserweb please give me a feedback.
I will post mine here.

Thank you for this work. I am waiting for somme parts. and i am starting to print others. I will publish the result.

How can I use the software to write letters?
I get only the contours from inkscape, and if I choose a "curvy" font it can't work with more than a single sentence

i tried to provide a link but thinghiverse flags links
try with a search on google single-line fonts

How you convert graphics like signatures to one-line plot? I still receive from inkscape contours...

Great work! And good finds on the gcode creation/sending software. I have been looking for alternative free options for a project of my own.
