what does the $Fn and bar offset do?

$fn = 64; specifies the number of faces to use on curved surfaces
bar_offset = 1; is the offset of the "bar" that goes through each link, similar to link pins

By default, this is a 19mm Lug-width Band.

What temperature are you printing at?

Depends on your printer and filament, but for mine I used 205-210 for PLA.

What material are you printing with? I've been having some trouble with HIPS.

I have only tried printing this with PLA. What issues are you having?

The only thing I haven't been able to solve is that the bands around the pegs holding the links seem to be locking up and breaking, even with an increased print tolerance on the scad model. I'm going to guess it's a bridging issue, and the pegs are just sagging and then fusing.

I had fusing issues on the bridging with PLA when I was prototyping this. I got much better results when I lowered the hotend temperature and ultimately was able to tighten the tolerances too. I have never printed with HIPS however, so I am not sure this applies.
