Sorry - what is the purpose of this?
Thanks!

This sets over the Z screw as a barrier so that the filament wont rub against it.

I made the thin version today and it works beautifully. I collected a lot of designs, but ended up using this one because of it's simplicity and zero requirement for using the screws. It was my first print on my Ender 3 and I'm super happy with the results. Thanks!

why thank you. its on on my machine as well, with thousands of print hours and no problems.

Printed and it works right but the fit isn't tight - it can move a little and there's some horrible squeaking sounds on fast retractions.. does this fit snugly and does't move? printed the normal version (v2, not the thin)

I love this idea. Would it make sense to make the "back" clip go around then under the metal bracket so then you could add a tiny filament guide that looks like the one in the link below? just a thought.

Ender 3 Filament Guide easy install

Thank you so much......this is the kind of design that's functional and not over engineered. I've lost count of all the variants I printed that wasted so much time unscrewing and putting back the screws just to find out how they don't fit properly or make horrible squeaky sounds.

Could you please reduce a bit the thickness of the tube so the filament has more room to go to the hole ?

Added a Version for you, Prints fine as long as you have good bed adhesion.

Great little print, I did mine 0.2mm layer height and 80mm/s and it printed in about 20 mins. Was a little worried about adhesion, but did a raft to make sure. Printed great, and fitted over with a satisfying click!

tmss & Filboyt: I printed mine per specs and it did not click in place, seems to just rest in place compliments of Earth's gravity. Is it supposed to click in place?

Your print looks great, I Thought tmss was printing the filament arm as that will click. This just sits and lets gravity do the work.

Thanks for the feedback, glad to know it’s working as designed!

Would be nice to have a snap on version of this so don't have to remove X gantry to install it. :-D

Just Slide it down the Z screw into place. no need to remove anything, not even filament.

Ok. Cool. Thanks.

Just pinch extruder arm to slide filament out of the way.
