Hi there can you do 1 whit a 3,2" display design.

anyone use the 3.5inch adafruit screen and it does not want to fit and the side of the screen facing towards the inside is showing the screens white borders... any tips?

How is everyone attaching the pi+screen so it does not fall out

Just leaving this here tutorial here on setting up the Adafruit PiTFT Plus 3.5" (or any Adafruit pi display I believe): https://furcean.com/tag/octopi-tft/

Thank you John Furcean!!

How do you connect it to the MK2 frame with the original brackets?

I am looking to try to adapt this to my delta mks gen l with touch screen... Do you have cad file for this ?

printed in orange PET. no idea why but my adafruit 3.5 screen just does not want to fit... anyone have suggestions?

after a little bit of cutting and screaming.. its in :)

it fits well with MK3 but it has to be done a little repair - the two bars must be cut off

Is it centered after removing those bars?

Hello, I have been thinking of buying the 7" Raspberry pi touchscreen for this purpose and mounting it somewhere nearby. I really enjoy your integrated design however. I wonder your feedback on the 3.5" screen itself and if you might wish to have it either bigger or different? This design as it is looks quite nice. I assume the Pi mounts right in the back of this unit as well, then you run a USB cable to the top of the Einsy, yes? Thanks in advance for answering my questions!

The 3.5 inch screen is fine with the Octoprint-TFT UI (not TouchUI), but unfortunately that project hasn't seen an update in quite some time and there are some big issues right now. You are correct that the Pi is mounted to the backside of the screen (the screen is actually a HAT) and then I am running a cable under the printer. I do have another design with the 7" screen, but I haven't posted it.

Is there an alternative to Octoprint-TFT or TouchUI that will work properly on a 3.5" screen? Ive looked at Octoprint-TFT and IVe seen that the last update was more than a year ago.

I use Astrobox Touch from Astroprint and love it. My first MK3s has a separate Astrobox Touch with a 5" screen and it is great. I saw this design and want to upgrade my 2nd MK3s to use this but the Astrobox Touch doesn't specifically support the Adafruit screen. I have a post in their support to see if anyone has been successful getting that screen to work. I currently have the Waveshare 3.5" screen and it looks like it will be fine to use, but doesn't quite fit into the cover so I was thinking of asking for a CAD file so I could do a mod, but I am going to wait till I see if I can get the Adafruit screen to work with the Astrobox first.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll take a closer look at the octoprint projects you mentioned as I have seen some folks using it but didn't really know what I was looking at. I keep waffling between if I want to do the 7" or what. It sounds like your experience is a point in favor of the 7 if i'm understanding you and it is supported instead by the TouchUI project. If you don't mind sharing the files or at least a picture I'd like to see what that looks like!

Does this still connect to the printer? It looks like from the picture it looks like you had to remove the screens from the printer, but it's not totally clear.

Mind a pic of your printer with it installed? :) Pic of the LCD is nice, but overall pic is even better ;)

What plugin are you using on your TFT screen. It looks so much better than the basic touchUI.

Nevermind. Didn't completely read the description.

I'm a rookie with raspberry and octoprint.
I'm not understand why can I edit the basic configuration for Octoprint-TFT?
I have octopi strecth lite.

thank you

hi, i always get "Unable to connect to "http://localhost" (key:true). maybe Octoprint not running?" do u know how to fix this problem?
i think i need to access the config file but i dont know the path and where is the file.

Problem solved but now i have another problem which is the screen goes blank after 10 minutes if i touch it it will come back unless if i left it for 1 hour or more when i touch it it will stay blank.
Linux octopi 4.14.34-v7+

another problem solved XD
just fixed the issue by following this https://askubuntu.com/questions/476036/xset-unable-to-open-display

then this https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/752/how-do-i-prevent-the-screen-from-going-blank

what i did to solve this problem
i tried this command xset s noblank but it keeps saying xsetroot: unable to open display ':0'
this mean my display is at DISPLAY=:1 so i entered export DISPLAY=:1
xset s off # don't activate screensaver
xset -dpms # disable DPMS (Energy Star) features.
xset s noblank # don't blank the video device

Love it will implement as soon as MK3 version is available.

I apologize for the delay on the Mk3 version.. Been busy with graduation stuff.

Thanks for your work on this. I, too, am looking forward to the MK3 version.

wow nicely done !!
looking forward to the mk3 version will print for sure

Super cool! But man, that color scheme is killing it :D

LOL, yeah.. I ran out of my orange PETG.
